Naming Opportunities Remaining in Phase 1 Construction

Introduction

Thank you for joining us in providing a safe and warm home away from home to thousands of families across the Upper Peninsula. The support of individuals and businesses like you is crucial to helping us offer compassionate, empathetic, and honest care to patients and families during their health care journey. With opportunities starting at $5,000, a gift to the new Steve Mariucci Family Beacon House demonstrates your connection to the community and makes a positive impact on those in need.

In addition to the recognition listed below for individual naming opportunities, our guests will receive a welcome packet with information regarding their stay with major donors prominently listed throughout. We also pledge to promote the generosity of all of our donors to our guests and community members.

No matter the amount, your gift will ensure that U.P. families experiencing a medical crisis never have to ask, “Where am I going to stay and how am I going to be able to afford it?”

Black Rocks Honor Wall - $5,000 (x100)

The Black Rocks Honor Wall will recognize our fourth tier donors, stylized to reflect the famed Black Rocks along the shores of Lake Superior. Located in the main lobby near check-in, join us in welcoming our guests to their home away from home with a gift of $5,000.

Presque Isle Honor Wall - $10,000 (x50)

Located in the main lobby near guest check-in, the Presque Isle Honor Wall will recognize our third tier donors, designed to illustrate the beauty of Presque Isle’s sandstone cliffs and tree-lined shores. Impart the peace of Marquette’s beloved “island” to our guests with a generous gift of $10,000.

When guests arrive at the new Steve Mariucci Family Beacon House, they will see your name set in the awe-inspiring beauty of the aurora borealis. Located in the main lobby near check-in, the Northern Lights Honor Wall will recognize our second tier donors with a generous gift of $15,000.

Great Lakes Honor Wall - $25,000 (x25)

Embodying the strength and beauty of the Great Lakes, the Great Lakes Honor Wall will recognize our first tier donors. Located in the main lobby near check-in, offer our guests a warm welcome to the new Steve Mariucci Family Beacon House with a gift of $25,000.

Guest Rooms - $50,000 (x3)

While we work hard to provide all of our guests with an environment that promotes healing and support, our cancer patients require a little extra safety and comfort. They can become immunocompromised during treatment and are best protected by avoiding other guests and children. In addition to a dedicated TV lounge, the Second Floor Guest Rooms will be reserved exclusively for our cancer patients to offer peace of mind and security during their stay. While each room will feature two queen beds and a bathroom, some will also include recliners for post-surgical sleeping comfort; after undergoing surgery, many patients prefer to sleep in an upright position for a few nights. Donors will be recognized on guest room doors, in the main lobby, and in our welcome packet. You will also have the opportunity to add a special item to the room to let guests know who made their stay possible.

Board/Work Room - $50,000 (x1)

During extended stays, many of our guests continue to have work obligations. Utilized by Beacon House guests and staff alike, the Board/Work Room will serve as a dedicated gathering space to focus on getting things done. We will provide our guests with necessary tools including computers, printers, and speakerphones to assist with productivity. The Board/Work Room donor will be recognized on the work room door, in the main lobby, and in our welcome packet. Located near the CEO’s office, our team will use this space almost daily — if you choose to sponsor this room, your generosity will never be forgotten by our team!

Lighthouse Lift - $50,000 (x1)

Many of our patients and their caregivers endure long days of testing, treatment, and travel. By sponsoring the Lighthouse Lift, which offers easy access to the second floor and garden level, you will be making the lives of our guests a little easier — one trip at a time. The Lighthouse Lift donor will be recognized on all elevator signage, in the main lobby, and in our welcome packet. Your support will help us provide a safe haven to thousands of families traveling to Marquette from across the Upper Peninsula to receive specialty medical care.

Superior Stairs - $50,000 (x1)

At the Beacon House, we provide superior care and hospitality to each and every one of our guests. Echo this mission by sponsoring our Superior Stairs, which lead to the second floor and garden level from the main level. You will be graciously recognized via signage on all three levels, in the main lobby, and in our welcome packet. Whether they are at the beginning, middle, or end of their health care journey, your generous gift will help our guests take the necessary steps toward rest and recovery.

Overnight Support Suites - $75,000 (x2)

Some treatments require extended stays at the Beacon House. For these guests, we are proud to offer two special Overnight Support Suites featuring all of the comforts of home, including a queen bed, bathroom, sitting area, and kitchenette. Donors will be recognized on suite doors, in the main lobby, and in our welcome packet. You will also have the opportunity to add a special item to the room to let guests know who made their stay possible.

Entrance Canopy - $100,000 (x1)

Let our guests know that you’ve got them covered by sponsoring our Entrance Canopy! At the original Beacon House, we would often find patients struggling with wheelchairs, walkers, and luggage in the snow and rain, so one of our top priorities for the new structure was to build a canopy to protect our guests from the elements. In addition to signage visible to everyone entering and exiting the building, the Entrance Canopy’s donor will be recognized in the main lobby and welcome packet. Donors who pledge $100,000 or more will also appear on all marketing materials for the new Steve Mariucci Family Beacon House in perpetuity, including:

  • Website Footer: www.upbeaconhouse.org
  • Annual Report: 5,000+ mailings
  • Brochures & Rack Cards: 10,000+ distributed annually across the U.P. to hospitals, clinics, medical centers, physician offices, etc.
  • Social Media: Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter, specific to donor recognition content

Landscaping & Patio - $175,000 (x1)

Since many of our guests spend much of their time inside hospitals and treatment centers, we are pleased to offer them a beautiful and peaceful outdoor space to utilize during their stay. The Landscaping & Patio of the new Steve Mariucci Family Beacon House will feature lush greenery throughout the nearly two acres of property, including a bike and walking path for guests to get some fresh air and exercise whenever possible. By supporting the Landscaping & Patio, you will be prominently recognized on outdoor weather-resistant signage in the entrance gardens, north and south walkways, in the main lobby, and in our welcome packet. Donors who pledge $100,000 or more will also appear on all marketing materials for the new Steve Mariucci Family Beacon House in perpetuity, including:

Community Kitchen - $250,000 (x1)

The kitchen is the heart of every home, and the Beacon House is no different. Many of our guests have dietary restrictions due to their treatments; by providing them with the ability to prepare their own meals, they are able to save money and maintain the nutrition that is critical to their care. The Community Kitchen at the new Steve Mariucci Family Beacon House will include three cooking stations so multiple families can prepare home-cooked meals simultaneously. One of these cooking stations will be specially outfitted and certified by the Health Department, allowing us to invite professional chefs to join us for special occasions. The space will be designed with an array of dining tables and chairs so our guests can continue to gather together, family style, at their home away from home. The Community Kitchen sponsor will be generously thanked throughout the space, in the main lobby, and in our welcome packet. Donors who pledge $100,000 or more will also appear on all marketing materials for the new Steve Mariucci Family Beacon House in perpetuity, including:
